Finnish hunting-clothing brand Sasta is set for a return to UK shops, thanks to a new deal with Parry Agencies.
The brand was first introduced in the UK several years ago and quickly built up a great reputation for quality and stylish garments that perform. But, following distribution-channel difficulties, Sasta withdrew the brand from the UK market.
However, continued requests and demand from both retailers and customers over the years have encouraged the firm’s Finnish owners to look once more at the UK.
As a result of this, Sasta has now teamed up with Parry Agencies – run by Simon Parry – which has a team that covers all of the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands, to reintroduce the brand into carefully selected retailers, offering the exclusivity of being a nominated stockist for this exceptional brand.
The brand originated in 1969 when Urpo Saastamoinen, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, couldn’t find suitable clothing for hunting and decided to create a suit for himself.
Based in one of the last true wilderness areas of northern Europe, Nurmes in Finland offers some of the best ‘natural laboratories’ in which to rigorously test all of the garments and technologies within an actual environment that ensures maximum performance, durability and comfort in the harshest of weathers.
Simon said: “Technology has also evolved dramatically over recent years and Sasta has continued to lead the field, working very closely with the best materials on the market – such as Gore-Tex, Polartec, Ventile and Active Wool to name just a few.
“With authentic roots in the vast wilderness areas of Nurmes, Sasta offers some highly technical clothing for the most demanding of users, while also providing lifestyle consumers with garments reflecting the 45-year heritage of the brand.”
Under development currently is also a fishing collection that Simon is extremely excited about and he says that he will offer an increased range of technical and functional garments within these disciplines.
It is expected that Sasta will be available in the UK from August.
